They wanted to do something entirely new and created a bunch of original designs for the game. It was the entire concept of the game, which revolved under the “cut” mechanic.Ī lot of bosses created by Kojima Productions that were handed over to Platinum were scrapped, and one of the bosses included Volgin as well. The first trailer that was shown at E3 2010 featured a CG Raiden cutting up a cyborg and extracting something that gives him more energy. At that meeting I knew I wanted to do that game.”

As an independent studio we have to think about the staff members we have available to complete the project, and truthfully there wasn’t much opening, but I felt that this was a title we had to do. “The third time it was official and at that meeting Mr Kojima asked us if we could make the game. The second time was at another party, and Mr Kojima actually asked, “Do you want to develop Rising for us?” And this was very… not business like… It was just instantly, “Do you want to make Rising for us?” So I thought it was a joke,” he said. Kojima was at a party, I asked how Metal Gear Rising was doing, and there was no response from him at the time. Here’s what Platinum’s Atsushi Inaba had to say about how the relationship started. Platinum Games gladly accepted the challenge and began developing the game in 2010, and a brief announcement was done at E3, with the platforms revealed as well. It was revealed that Kojima was looking for a studio to develop the game and found Platinum to be more suitable for Rising. The story gameplay is surprisingly short and the villain's intentions are highly predictable, but the enemy and boss designs are incredibly detailed, and the controls (killing maneuvers) are very exciting to perform. The development of this game has been turbulent at times, with Platinum Games taking over the reins from Kojima Productions. People 17 and older should be fine playing this game. There are some sexual themes an dialogue, mostly where Raiden meets Mistral - one of the Desperado captains (although no nudity is shown). Profanity is also a big concern - plenty of uses of the word f**k, sh*t, son of a b**ch, d**n and h*ll. The violence is incredibly stylized and contains very graphic blood and gore - where you can cut enemies (any part of their body) in slow motion and see their insides while you continue hacking and slashing. The enemies are the Desperado, which are power-hungry cyborgs who kill and destroy for pleasure in an effort to create a new "utopia", since they believe the economy will create a new revolution. Metal Gear Rising : Revengeance is about the war between the Patriots - which Raiden gets an awesome new cyborg look including a high frequency blade, which can almost literally cut through any substance. Questionable conversations, game begins with oddly brutal moments (perhaps search for gameplay online?), above average amounts of profanity. Im partial to a DLC track "The Hot Wind Blowing", it should give you a firm understanding. Symbolic, appealing, each battle being accompanied by music of internal dialogue.

Singlehandedly the best soundtrack I have ever listened to. The two DLC's may be a consideration as well. With some sections harder without stealth it can become quite frustrating and the repeptitive combat loop makes this a multi-day play. Some of the figures in this video game speak of the morality of violence, war, doctrines, a narrative that truly made me questions much at a young age so its logical there may be some discussions. The game is easy at times, for those 14+ but can have an extra dimension of difficulty at your choice. Ok, there is violence and swearing as well as some mentions of.
